Walkway Bridge Railing

Moving safely around our communities

Walkways and pedestrian bridges are essential infrastructure that enable walking in and around our communities. When developing such infrastructure, public safety must always be considered when selecting a railing system.

Robust and made to last

Hampden’s Hot Dip Galvanised (HDG) Railings offer durability, robustness, reliability, and safety, making them the preferred top choice for Bridges and Walkways. These railings feature heavy steel sections that are fully welded and HDG, making them suitable for various environments. With years of experience, we have perfected the fabrication and installation of these safety railing systems.

Our walkway bridge railings use 20mm solid steel rods welded to a heavy steel flat bar, which are then attached to posts. The panels and posts are HDG to meet the Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4680:2006, ensuring longevity and durability.

We provide designs that comply with the Auckland Transport Code of Practice (ATCOP) - Fence Types E & F.

And we offer a cost-effective design alternative that still meets AS/NZS 1170.1:2002 Table 3.3, Category F/G. The only difference is the post centres and vertical infill centres.

If you require a bespoke design, we can help with that too.

Heavy Vehicle Bridge Railing

Hampden’s Heavy Vehicle Bridge Rails feature a heavy steel intermediate rail and closely spaced posts. This design dramatically reduces the chance of a vehicle breaking through the railing during an accidental impact. Fully welded and Hot Dip Galvanised, they provide a safe, durable and effective barrier to keep people safer

Hot Dip Galvanizing – the best protection inside and out

AS/NZS 4680 is the Australian/New Zealand Standard for Hot Dip Galvanized (zinc) coatings on fabricated ferrous articles. It specifies the requirements of the coating and includes information on coating mass and thickness, appearance and freedom from defects as well as suitable repair methods.
